Anchorage, AK – February 1, 2016 – Anchorage-based Northern Air Cargo (NAC) is proudly entering its 60th year providing airfreight services to towns and villages throughout western and northern Alaska. Originally founded in 1956, the airline was established as a charter airfreight service, pioneering delivery of oversized cargo, general freight and essential goods to Alaska’s rural communities.

Today, NAC has grown to become the state’s largest all-cargo airline with scheduled flights to 12 communities not connected by a road system and employs more than 300 Alaskans. Alaska industries such as oil and gas, mining, construction, and commercial fishing use NACs services for the businesses to run smoothly. From groceries and generators to medical supplies and lumber, rural residents and businesses rely on airfreight transportation as an essential service vital to their way of life.
For six decades NAC has demonstrated it dedication, adaptability, sustainability and continued growth to meet the needs of Alaska’s marketplace for the next 60 years.
